Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the kind of mobile RPG that respects your time without dumbing itself down. You build a party of four, each with their own skill trees, and the turn-based fights actually ask you to think about turn order and elemental weaknesses. It's not just tapping the biggest attack.
The writing carried us further than we expected. There's a slow-burn plot about a fading kingdom, and the companion side-quests gave the characters real personality. We ended up caring who we brought into the final act, which is rare on mobile.
It leans a bit grindy in the mid-game, but you can skip most of the padding by focusing side content. Auto-battle is there for the trash fights, and the manual control kicks in when it matters. A solid pick if you want something meaty on a phone.
What we liked
- Deep skill trees for each party member
- A story that's actually worth reading
- Smart mix of auto and manual combat
