Big Bass Drop

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Big Bass Drop is one of those games that looks simple on the store page and then quietly steals a week from you. You drop a line, wait for the right moment, and tap to reel — but the fish move in patterns, and the deeper waters mix in currents that pull your bait off course. Getting a clean cast into a school of fast movers feels genuinely satisfying.

Controls are one thumb, which is the whole point. You hold to aim depth and release to drop, then tap in rhythm as the fish bite. The team kept coming back to it because the difficulty curve is fair — every failed run taught us something about reading the water instead of just punishing us. Later levels add moving obstacles and tighter timing windows that pushed us to actually pay attention.

What we liked most is how readable everything is. The animations tell you exactly when a catch is coming, so a miss always feels like your fault, not the game's. It's a great pick-up-for-five-minutes game that somehow turns into thirty.
